“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
At the Clay Church, our children are the center of the church... the soul that brings joy, pride, and hope. The Children Ministry understands very well it takes a big responsibility to teach children the way God intends us to teach them. Every Sunday, our children receive the Word of God, delivered in a fun way by their loving teachers. They get to memorize verses selected by their assigned teacher. They have to say the memorized verses out loud in front of the congregation -- teaching them confidence and how to beat stage fright. After all, in the future they have to face their fears in a much bigger setting.
The nature of Sunday school is educating, spirit-filled, respectful, and full of wisdom. We emphasize in learning bible and at the same time teach them life skills, such as how to build teamwork and friendship. Children are taught to be respectful, compassionate, and loving. They inspire each other and learn from one another. They get involved in their group age, and get to know each other as brothers and sisters in God.
We have a lot of activities outside our regular Sunday school. Music becomes an important part of children’s life at the Clay Church and it is focused on one thing: praising God. After Sunday service, kids (and parents) can learn guitar for free, taught by our music teacher. Every Friday evening, while the adults gather for their bible study, children have an amazing opportunity to learn musical instruments; some kids learn keyboard, some other choose to play drums. One Friday a month, we skip the learning and do fun stuff: movie night or game night.
In short, the Clay Church equips children with things they need to live their life as a child of God. And to witness they grow in church is truly an experience every parent deserves to have.
